Overview:

First off, I have to give a shout out to Chef Heppe for being so gracious; we were at Untitled for a friend's birthday, he and Chef had worked together at Mercat, and Chef was kind enough to come out, talk to us about the menu, send out some amazing dishes, and take us on a tour after dinner. Not expected at all, but completely appreciated!

My boyfriend and I arrived early and were impressed upon entering this huge space! There was a live jazz singer, a dark and sexy ambience, and two bars to choose from that night! We wandered over to the less-crowded champagne bar for cocktails, the other bar, with it's impressive 300+ whiskey selection (the largest in the world!), was understandably more crowded. After sipping on a delicious Bootlegger's Breakfast and Pistol Smoke, we decided on a cheese plate and the uh-mazing Country Pate. We were thoroughly happy. Plus, any place that has Hook's 10-yr cheddar is alright in our book!

After spending a pleasant hour at the bar, our birthday boy arrived and we were seated at a private table in the champagne bar area. I, inexplicably, was given full control of ordering for the table, so order I did. Chef Heppe pointed out some favorites, and we rolled with it. I ordered:

-Grit cakes with tomato jam- so simple and so savory
-Crispy squash blossoms with truffle honey and farmer's cheese- squash blossoms are perfection no matter how you eat them, these were amazing.
-Pork Belly confit- it's pork belly, therefore, it's delicious.
-Roasted squab with mushroom Wellington, foie gras jus, and blueberry conserves- this was a table favorite, it tasted like the holidays!
-Short rib and scallops with herb bread pudding and corn puree- another favorite, this was a plate full of perfect.
-Goat wonton with blackberry sweet & sour- an interesting combo, yet really tasty! The gamey goat and the crispy wonton was great.
-Veal tartar-a tasty dish to be sure

So I ordered those dishes, then Chef Heppe decided to spoil us with an extra cheese and charcuterie plate as well as:
-Manhattan Chowder- I love chowder, this one was great
-pork chop with pickled plums, pistachio mustard- nice combo!
-Key-lime pie- oh my, it was tangy, sweet, and yum
-3 kinds of sorbet AND 3 kinds of ice cream- imaginative and tasty flavors
-the Peach Parfait. Oh my god, the Peach Parfait. It was a table favorite. Creamy, peachy, light, decadent.

We were stuffed by the time we done. The atmosphere is great, there's plenty of ambience to choose from depending on your mood, the service was really good as well- our waiter was fab, and the food and cocktails are tasty. Thanks to Untitled and Chef Heppe for a great night!
