Overview:

I'm skeptical whenever anyone asks me to go to a Hotel bar/restaurant, in fear that it's going to be over-priced and undwhelming when it comes to food and drink; but Sable is non of the above.

Located in the heart of Downtown Chicago, this hotel bar-restaurant is like no other. The drink list is never ending, the food is classic and the tab at the end of the evening is very affordable.

I love all things truffle, so when truffle deviled eggs is of the first things listed on the menu, I knew I had to try. These eggs are truly 'devilish' with their rich taste and creamy texture, you'll never want to stop indulging. I especially like that the truffle was apparent, but not overpowering. You'll definitely never eat your typical deviled egg again without asking, 'Where's the truffle?'

Bacon wrapped dates are a classic appetizer and classic they remain at Sable. Crispy bacon, soft dates and creamy blue cheese, don't disappoint. This is another dish that is very rich, but satisfying enough to warm up your taste buds for the main course, not fill you up entirely.

A chicken sandwich, is a chicken sandwich, is a chicken sandwich... But not just a chicken sandwich at Sable. Anyone can throw some bread crumbs on a piece of chicken, top it with pickles and a bun; but Chef prepared this chicken with 'home' in mind. The chicken is extra crispy, spiced simply and the homemade mayo tops off the main course as the perfect lunch dish.

I had to save the drinks for last. I think the drink menu has close to 15 pages, which may seem overwhelming at first, but I absolutely LOVE the selection. Sable brings back the meaning of cocktail hour with their classic offerings and not so known drink selections. The menu is sure to please, even the most pickiest of drinkers.

Sable is a great place to take clients for lunch, a first date for drinks and a place to impress that special someone when you're looking for an intimate but comfortable environment to dine at (without breaking the bank).

Cheers!
