Overview:

I love this place. The food is great with a very extremely cozy French feel. The restaurant is unlike anything I have been to in Kansas City. The menu changes and is written on a chalkboard but anything I have tried over the years has been good. I always hear people rave about this place but it still feels like a bit of a secret. I can't wait to go back!

I love this restaurant. Bev Gannon is known for this crab appetizer and it is fantastic. A definite must. The menu changes but another one that I have had before is the ahi pizza. It is amazing. Layers of ahi and salmon with a wasabi sauce and layered like a pizza that gives it a fantastic crunch. This place is a little out of the way from the usual Hawaii restaurants and it isn't near the ocean but it can be hard to get in to so book ahead.

Overview:

We found this place when we randomly stopped in a local shop and saw it on the cover of a cookbook. This place has some of the best views in any restaurant I have been to. Floor to ceiling glass windows all the way around that look over Big Sur. Our table was next to the window and the you could look straight down at the floor and off the cliff to the ocean. Aside from being a great restaurant, this is my dream home! I could move in.

The food - very good. We weren't that hungry so we ordered the ahi tuna with a wasabi crunch salad and the oysters with fresh horseradish that was fantastic. The gin and vodka drinks we ordered were also good. I would go out of my way to go back to this place. Probably not much to see at night but during the day it is incredible. There is also a patio but I would recommend sitting up against the glass windows inside.

Overview:

We went to BIN 38 for dinner and really enjoyed the meal. We ordered the burrata, short ribs, crab risotto, and coconut sorbet. The short ribs were the favorite at the table. The interior of BIN 38 has several references to wine in the walls and glass that were a nice touch. They also listed wine and beer pairings and offered good prices on wine like $85 for Silver Oak. I definitely want to go back and try the brunch. Note - the outdoor patio and fire pit is a first come first serve basis.

Overview:

Everytime someone talks about this place they absolutely rave about it. I really wasn't sure what all the hype was about but I get it now!! Every dish was flavorful but light. The slanted door spring rolls with peanut sauce was excellent, the cellophane noodles with crab were amazing, but the crispy whole branzino - oh the crispy whole branzino - was off the charts good. Lightly fried whole fish (a seabass) with a sauce that made you want to like the plate clean. With the jasmine rice mixed in - OMFG. Sadly, we had no room for dessert.
