  • Food: American
  • Decor:
  • Service: Quick!
  • Cost: $$$

Overview:

I first visited Indigo with a group of 6, we had placed a reservation but were running late. The restaurant was able to squeeze us in and make the service quick so we didn't miss the Opera!

The pricing was reasonable and there was no corkage fee. I ordered the optional prix fix dinner menu for $36. I began with the roasted butternut squash soup which tatsted delicate and sweet. My second course was the pan roasted chicken breast over roasted spaghetti squash. I finished with the espresso panna cotta.

If you are looking for quick service and a delicious dinner, Indigo is a safe bet!

Optional Prix Fix Dinner Menu, Espresso Panna Cotta

Overview:

5 Ninth provided the perfect setting for a first date. The combination of the trendy setting, personalized service, and amazing food made my dining experience outstanding!

I began my meal with the Westside Mule cocktail, infused with polish vodka, canton french ginger liqueur, lime juice, and jamaican ginger beer. The creative mix was not overpowering. I then ordered the beet salad, which is served on raw Kale. I split the main course, Fregola Sardinia Pasta (assorted seafood, fregola, saffron broth, and peas).

I am looking forward to my second date at 5 Ninth!

As soon as I entered Melisse the hostess greeted me with a warm smile and offered to take my coat. The service throughout the meal was outstanding! My group and I ordered the 10 course tasting menu ($150), the portions were well sized and tasted incredible! I ordered the white truffle (alba) risotto, and the scent of the truffles left me wanting more! My friend ordered the Black Bass, with peruvian potatoes, red onions and green garlic. She continued to rave how well the ingredients blended together throughout the meal. I recommend Melisse to anyone looking for a true LA dining experience!

"Authentic and Amazing!"

  • Food: Korean
  • Decor: Hip/Trendy
  • Service: Superb!
  • Cost: $$$

Overview:

This was my first dining experience at a David Chang restaurant, and I was immediately impressed. I attended Momofuku Ssam Bar with three of my girlfriends, hungry for an authentic Korean dinner. The ambiance of the restaurant was new and trendy, overall an exciting setting to dine in.

We began our meal with the Pork Buns. They were the perfect combination of a warm bun, soft pork belly, and crispy vegetables. I also ordered the honey crisp apple kimchi, consisting of a sweet yet spicy taste. The unexpected combination of flavors worked in the dishes favor. I made sure to taste test my friends order of bev eggleston’s pork shoulder steak, consisting of piperade, pine nuts, and cauliflower. The delicately prepared pork and ingredients blended well together.

We splurged on the pear sorbet for dessert! A wonderful finale to a filling meal!

Special Dishes:

bev eggleston’s pork shoulder steak, peach sorbet

"Best Steak in NYC!"

  • Food: American/Steakhouse
  • Decor: Classy
  • Service: Attentive
  • Cost: $$$
  • Wine / Cocktails:

Overview:

I dare say that Sparks Steak House provided me with the best steak I've had throughout the 5 boroughs. I immediately ordered the Sliced Steak served with fresh mushrooms and bordelaise sauce. The meat was a large cut, and was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of redness. I ended my meal with the Chocolate Truffle, which was rich and delicious.

I will definitely be returning to Sparks when I'm in the mood for a hardy steak!

Special Dishes:

Sliced Steak, Chocolate Truffle
